Olivia Rodrigo just released her new debut single ‘Drivers License‘ and we are all literally obsessing over it. I think we can all agree that it is the breakup song of the century! It doesn’t matter if you have been through a breakup or not, this song really does get you in your feels.

The 17-year old sensation (who just got her drivers license) has already broken soooo many global records with the release of her new song… and we are all here for it. Olivia’s new song has surpassed Ariana Grande’s ‘thank u, next‘ record of the highest number of streams in a single day for a song by a female artist in US Spotify history – oh and her song is continuing to beat its own record! 

 ‘Drivers License‘ has basically been flooding your Tiktok FYP, and fans are coming up with some seriosuly insane theories.

If you *don’t* know what the song is about, don’t worry we’ve got you, we have all the tea: 

Okay… so basically, fans are convinced that Olivia’s song is about Joshua Bassett, her co-star on the Disney series ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ (HSMTMTS), which is a spin-off of High School Musical. Although these two never really confirmed anything, they were rumored to be dating (I mean you could just tell that their on-screen chemistry was definitely not fake). They even wrote a song together for HSMTMTS. 

Fans speculated that Olivia practiced her driving with Joshua in his car, but now she ‘drives alone past your street’. Fans have also figured out that the reference to that ‘blonde girl’ in Olivia’s song is actually refererring to Sabrina Carpenter (also another Disney star)…. This whole thing is giving us Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas and Miley Cyrus love triangle vibes. 

Sabrina and Joshua were seen together in the summer of 2020, they even spent Halloween together (in matching  Lava Girl and Shark Boy couples costumes).

To make things even more interesting… Joshua Bassett just relseaed a new song called ‘Lie Lie Lie’ , literally a week after Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Drivers License’ and people are saying that it’s about Olivia.

 

Obviosuly we don’t know if all of this is 100% true, but all of this tea has definitely sparked a lot of interest in Olivia’s new debut song…Â
