One of the most anticipated awards ceremonies of the year (and music industry,) is about to take place much closer than you think.

The MTV VMAs 2021 is set to take place on September 12 at the Barclays Center in New York City, and yes – live performances will be making a major comeback. The first set of performers have just been announced and obviously, we’re super impressed with the line up.

Olivia Rodrigo, Camilla Cabello, Lil Nas X, Lorde, and Machine Gun Kelly are set to grace the VMA stage and give incredible performances. Camilla Cabello will be performing her latest single “Don’t Go Yet,” and ofc her 2019 hit “Senorita” with Shawn Mendes

Lorde is making a major return, both in music and on the MTV stage. She’ll be performing her new project Solar Power, which will be released on August 20. The songstress has just released a music video for her single ‘Mood Ring,’ and it’s safe to say we’re living for the witchtok-hippie-crystal vibes she’s giving.

Another one of our faves is hitting the stage this year! Olivia Rodrigo, AKA our Gen-Z angsty queen will be performing ‘good 4 u.’ The first-time nominee has had a *huge* year, and her album SOUR has broken multiple records
