Noor Stars recently got engaged to Kareem Al Sharif, and her stunning engagement ring is gorgeous.

It’s fair to say as soon as we saw the pics of the jaw-dropping piece of jewellery we wanted to know the 411 on the stone (for research purposes/ future ring inspo, ofc).

In a recent YT video, Noor and Kareem discussed the location of the proposal. He said that finding the right location took him and Noor’s sister, Baneen Stars, had a lot of time and research.

Kareem approached Noor in front of letters spelling out, ‘Marry me?’ before he popped the question with a lit oval-cut diamond ring.

To take a closer look at Noor’s outstanding sparkler, Cosmo ME has exclusively chatted to renowned jeweller Hiba Jaber, who is not the ring’s creator but has designed jewellery for Jordanian Princess Ayah bint Faisal, Queen Rania Al Abdullah, and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein. She provided expert opinions on its design, craftsmanship, and materials. When it comes to knowing diamonds, she’s your woman.

Noor Stars engagement ring: What stone is it?

According to Hiba, the engagement ring features a beautiful oval diamond set in a simple yet elegant 18k white gold band.

The band complements the diamond, allowing the stone to take the spotlight.

Jaber says, “The simple setting makes the diamond stone stand out more, highlighting its natural beauty.”

Noor Stars engagement ring: How large is the diamond?

Although details about the diamond have not been disclosed, Hiba said that Noor’s oval diamond is likely in the 6-8 carat range. Wow.

Noor Stars engagement ring: What colour grade is the diamond?

Everyone knows that the 4 C’s – cut, clarity, colour and carat – are what to know about when diamond shopping and Hiba has explained that Noor’s bling looks top of the range (we wouldn’t expect anything else).

Noor Stars engagement ring: What colour grade is the diamond?

In case you didn’t know, the diamond colour evaluation of most gem-quality diamonds is based on the absence of colour and is rated according to the GIA grading chart. A chemically pure and structurally perfect diamond that has no hue, giving it a higher value.

Many of these diamond colour distinctions are so subtle that they are invisible to the untrained eye; however, these distinctions make a very big difference in diamond quality and price.

Sharing on how Noor’s ring appears in pictures, Hiba said that the diamond is “crispy white,” suggesting a high colour grade, likely in the G-F range. The stone has fantastic clarity, fire and brilliance.

Btw, brilliance can be thought of as brightness and scintillation; small flashes of bright white light in the stone while, fire is the dispersion of white light into rainbow colours as a result of refraction (basically brilliance is white sparkles, and fire is colourful sparkles when light hits the stone).

Noor Stars engagement ring: How much is it worth?

Hiba said combining a high-carat diamond and an 18k white gold band puts it in a premium price range.

The price range could be around Dhs190,000 to Dhs300,000. However, Hiba explains: “The value can depend on the exact criteria and vary so much; it’s difficult to get an estimate from just a photo.”

Noor Stars engagement ring: All the details on getting a similar design

Jaber said Noor’s ring is an example of a classic and timeless design that many gals favour. Simple bands with bigger diamonds are SO popular, which makes the stone stand out.

“We always advise our customers to go for simple ring settings, especially for a larger diamond, as it makes the stone stand out more and gives it justice,” she notes.

“Modern brides are leaning more towards simple ring designs and a bigger diamond when the budget allows. Ovals and pears have also been increasingly gaining popularity,” the bling expert says.

This trend has been around among celebrities and royals, with many going for oval and pear-shaped diamonds. Our Serena VanderWoodsen, AKA Blake Lively, Hailey Bieber, and Kourtney Kardashian, have been stunted in oval diamond rings.
