This week, Lebanese actress Nadine Njeim announced that she’ll be leaving Lebanon, her home country. This conclusion came after the horrible Beirut explosion which took place on 4 August, killing over 135 people, injuring thousands and leaving many of Beirut’s residents homeless. The actress, whose house is located near the port where the devastating explosion happened, was affected. It was reported that the star underwent six hours of surgery.

Nadine tweeted, “In this moment, from the hospital, I made a decision: I will leave the country and live in safety in another country that respects its people.” She goes on to say that “it is better than staying and dying in a country ruled by bullies.”
The former Miss Lebanon also took to her Instagram to share tragic videos of her damaged apartment.
Nadine reveals that ‘half her face and body were covered in blood,’ and she captions, “I thank God first, who saved my life. The explosion was close, and the scenes you see do not do it justice. If you visit the house and see the blood everywhere, you would be surprised as to how we are still alive.”
Thankfully, the 36 -year-old actress’ two children were not home and are “safe and fine.”
Many people in Lebanon are currently protesting against the country’s leaders in shock and anger following the explosion.
