It was announced on yesterday by Vogue that Timothée Chalamet, Billie Eilish, Naomi Osaka, and Amanda Gorman will be the co-chairs of the Met Gala in 2021. Although the Met Gala has been delayed, since it is typically held at the start of May, it is still expected to be held on September 13th, 2021. It was also announced that the Met Gala 2021 theme is “American Independance.”

After the gala being cancelled last year due to Covid restrictions, we could not be more happy to see this one coming, and looking better than ever with their co-chair line-up.

Timothée Chalamet posted a random photo amongst others of the Hall where the Met Gala usually takes place, hinting that he will be co-chairing the Met this year. This is obvs a big deal, since he’s our #ManCrushMonday and all.

Fans of  Billie Eilish all over Twitter were freaking out over the fact that she will be a co-chair of the met this year but most importantly, the youngest to do so in history, only at the age of 19. We are so excited for her!

Amanda Gorman also took to Twitter to announce that she will be co-shairing alongside the “Legends”.

Last but not least, we have Naomi Osaka took to Twitter saying that she is “so excited” about the Met Gala and publically expressed her love for Rihanna saying she might “pass out” if she sees her. We love when celebs fangirl over other celebs!
