Mabrook! The Egyptian actress, May Elghety, just tied the knot with what might be the most picture-perfect wedding ever.
The actress, known for her award-winning performances in NADA, Tayea, and Zodiac (to name a few) revealed that she got married over the weekend and naturally it was one for the books.
According to insiders, the actress married a British doctor named Andreas Braun, on April 19, 2025, in an intimate, yet equally aesthetic reception at Cairo’s St. Regis Hotel. Which, by the way, stunningly overlooks the River Nile–a dream wedding destination.
While the location was surely iconic, her dress to was just as stunnin’. For the ailse, she wore a flattering soft vintage Vera Wang wedding dress (the tears are very much real), which according to Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, was a dress she found years before her marriage.
Of course, the main character, it wouldn’t be a perfect wedding without a pair of Jimmy Choo heels and a long, gorgeous veil by designer Shahenda Hegazy.
The guest list was strictly VIP (AKA family and close friends) which made everything feel more about love. But ofc, the social media girls still adored the dreamy clips of Mai dancing with her husband and her dad.
Taking to her Instagram Story’s, she also posted a picture of the couple signing the marriage contract (the heart smiles!).
Because of her family’s legacy in the entertainment industry (literal icons, honestly), her wedding was also graced mintry dignitaries such as Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, the Egyptian Foreign Minister and a slew of other officials.
Noting her special ‘I do’ moment on social media, she wrote her thanks on Instagram: “Overwhelmed with love and Joy.. thank you to everyone who made this day incredibly special 🤍”
