After Love Is Blind and Perfect Match‘s Bartise Bowden announced he was now a father to a son back in April, the star has responded to confusion over the timeline of events.
Back in spring, Bartise took to Instagram to share the happy news and made a reference to his time on Love Is Blind in the caption, before sharing a slideshow of images of his adorable son.
He said: “Might’ve been the villain on TV, but I’m gonna be the hero for him. Instagram, meet my little man ❤️ #bigfella.”
Cast members from Love Is Blind and Perfect Match were quick to congratulate him on the news, with Shayne Jansen saying: “Congrats big fella!! You’re going to be a great father and know you have a great support group behind you 🙌.”
And Francesca Farago commented: “Cutie !!❤️” Perfect Match’s Kariselle Snow said what many people were thinking: “Bartise being the first dad after Perfect Match was not on my bingo card.”

Many people appeared to echo Kariselle’s comment, with some questioning the timeline of the arrival of Bartise’s son. Bartise appeared on Netflix’s newest reality show Perfect Match which aired in February this year, but is believed to have been filmed in March 2022.
Responding to the somewhat confusing timeline, he went into detail over becoming a father on his Talk’R podcast on Monday [29th May], touching on his relationship with “baby mama” Olivia Gross.
“I did Love Is Blind, I did Perfect Match, I had a son, and the timeline of all that, how it plays out, like on camera, doesn’t make any sense,” he admits. “What actually happened was… I actually had a whole relationship between Love Is Blind and Perfect Match, filmed Perfect Match, came back, conceived a son.”
Page Six suggests that Love Is Blind was filmed in the summer 2021, while Perfect Match was filmed in March 2022. So in the time between shows, Bartise and Olivia had a relationship, before reuniting after Perfect Match in 2022. It wasn’t until February 2023 that Perfect Match aired, with Bartise announcing he was a father in April 2023.
While Bartise and his partner are no longer together, he added that “I’m so proud of the relationship that we all have, the three of us together, even though we’re not dating, we are friends. We are single parenting and co-parenting at the same time.”

In Love Is Blind, Bartise was engaged to Nancy Rodriguez but the pair did not get married in the end after Bartise said “no” on their wedding day. As of yet, Nancy has not commented on Bartise’s baby news.
During the Love Is Blind: After The Altar reunion episode special, which was filmed at the latter end of 2022, Nancy and Bartise reunited, but Bartise did not mention his expected new arrival.
Since sharing the news of his son, Bartise has been posting a number of pictures and videos of himself with his son. Big congratulations!
