Now United is the music group on everyone’s lips at the moment, and with each member being a different nationality they are quite literally taking the whole world by storm. We sat down with the band’s Aussie beauty Savannah to talk about what it’s like being a role model at 17 and why the UAE is so amazing.

If you follow Savannah on IG (and there’s a cool 2.8 million of you doing so) you will have seen some pretty stunning pics of the talented vocalist in the UAE, but the UAE itself actually surprised Savanna on her recent trip, “when I first thought about the UAE I thought ‘wow, it’s such a beautiful country!’, but then once you actually come here, you get to experience so many different things that I didn’t know existed in the UAE”.

“We did so many activities, and the people are so kind here, it’s so nice to be around so many loving people. The food here is so fresh and delicious, and everything about the UAE is just amazing from what I’ve seen. I was like ‘woah, I didn’t expect this! This is so cool’”.

Savannah is from Australia, Sydney to be exact, and is seriously honoured to be representing her country in the multi-nationality group. “To represent my own country is such an honour because I love my country so much”, she tells us. “I am so glad that I get to represent it, and involve my culture in the group. I’m so happy and grateful to be able to be representing my country.”

Although the aspect of multi-nationality is super innovative and exciting, it also comes with one slight difficulty: time zones. “It was definitely difficult during quarantine”, Savannah says, “now that we’re all coming together it’s becoming a bit easier, but when we were in quarantine we would schedule times to call each other”. “I would be early morning, 2am, and we’d kind of balance out. We’d do zoom calls, learn dances and call each other to make content. We’d make as much content for our fans, because we love them all so much. We want to make them happy.”

We asked Savannah where she saw the group going next, “Definitely expanding our fan base and going to many countries”, she replies. “Also, getting new members as well”, she adds, “We just got Nour and it’s so cool that we get to involve her in our culture, and she gets to involve us in her culture as well. We’re learning so many different things. I just think we want to keep travelling and making music for our fans to love and be inspired by.”

Seventeen year old Savannah is the youngest member of the group, but that doesn’t phase her at all. “To be honest I don’t feel like I’m the baby of the group,” she tells us, “it doesn’t really matter if someone’s older or younger it kind of balances it out in the group and we all connect. It’s like a big family, it connects so well. It doesn’t really matter about ages”.

Now United has a *huge* fanbase, and they are some seriously dedicated fans too. We asked Savannah what it was like to have so many people out there looking up to her as a role model, and she tells us “it was definitely hard to get used to”. “These people actually look up to me and all these young girls and boys and it’s just crazy to think I’m like their idol in a way. It’s a big responsibility.” It’s very clear that she absolutely loves her fans, “I love connecting with them”, she tells us. “They make so many amazing edits and their messages are so kind. It’s actually like having a second family, they’re coming on the journey with me.”

A journey to world domination we predict!
