What’s Only Murders in the Building about?
Only Murders in the Building follows three strangers who have two things in common. The first is their apartment building, followed by their shared obsession with true-crime.
The synopsis (via IndieWire) reads:
“When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth. Perhaps even more explosive are the lies they tell one another. Soon, the endangered trio comes to realise a killer might be living among them as they race to decipher the mounting clues before it’s too late.”
The series is expected to contain ten episodes.
Who will star in Only Murders in the Building?
Selena plays Mabel Mora, who is joined by her neighbours Charles (Steve Martin, Cheaper by the Dozen) and Oliver (Martin Short, Saturday Night Live) as she investigates the mysterious goings on in their apartment building.
Steve and Martin have long been making comedy together, both starring in classic films including Three Amigos and Father of the Bride. We reckon with Selena in the mix, this is a guaranteed hit.
In his first main TV role, Aaron Dominguez plays Oscar, Mabel’s love interest. Also confirmed are Amy Ryan (The Office) and Nathan Lane (Modern Family).

Who is producing Only Murders in the Building?
Steve Martin wrote the concept behind Only Murders in the Building‘s synopsis, creating it alongside John Hoffmann. Steve is also an executive producer, along with Selena Gomez, Martin Short, Jamie Babbitt, Jess Rosenthal, and This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman.
When will Only Murders in the Building be released?
The first episode of Only Murders in the Building premieres on Hulu on 31 August, with new episodes released weekly. So as for when it lands in the UK? We’ll keep you posted. But there likely won’t be long to wait.
