Just like us viewers, the cast of Emily in Paris have proven to be obsessed with the characters and the storyline, because hello, this is the type of television show the industry has been waiting on for years. Ever since the show premiered, the prime locations within the show have become a tourist attraction spot, with thousands of people from all around the world visiting Paris to take pics near Emily’s apartment or enjoy the infamous chocolate croissant we were introduced to in season one. The cast cannot get over the show and nor can we. So, we were not surprised when Lucien Laviscount told Cosmo ME that the best part of working on the show was basically: “It’s everything together,” and that what truly makes it all put together is Lily Collins. “Lily is so incredibly enthusiastic and giving, and that creates a whole world for us to play in the characters.” said Lucien, who plays Alfie, Emily’s british beau that we can’t stop gushing over.
Another person we can’t get over is William Abadie, the Emily in Paris’ very own handsome mysterious perfumer, Antoine Lambert. William agrees with Lucien on the most part– but the thing he likes the most about working in the show is the reaction they recieve from the audience. He goes on to tell Cosmo ME: “The love that we receive from what we’ve made together and the effect it has on people. There’s a real gratitude when we see the joy that sparkles their eyes when we come across viewers of the show on the streets. As actors, it’s everything you can hope for. “

New York, Milan, London, Paris… all fashion capitals but TBH, let’s be real, Dubai has slowly become the modern world’s fashion capital. Designer brands, fine dining and literally everywhere is an instagrammable spot, Dubai has taken over the fashion industry. It has become a must-visit hot spot for celebs, so we *needed* to know what our fashion beaus from Emily in Paris thought and Miss Ashley Park herself gave us an answer we were all pleased to hear: “I got to go to Dubai for the first time, right after season two, when it was released and it was a really humbling joy to have so many people come up to me and sing ‘Ones Away to me” ? on the street and I was like ‘Oh my gosh’, it is a global show. The hotel I stayed at, the concierges were all huge fans of the show and they were so sweet, so yeah, Dubai is definitely a fashion capital, I felt that a lot there.” (Hello?! A revisit to Dubai is a must, miss Park.)
Soooo… other than Dubai being a fashion capital, that makes Emily in Paris fashion central. All our favourite characters are style icons– so we’ve got to learn more about the stars and their very own fashion sense. Camille Razat, who plays Camille, told Cosmo ME that when it comes to her style and Camille’s, her “personal style is more edgy I would say, bizarre in some ways and I think Camille’s character is chicer.”
Camille also had something to say when it came to choosing who her funniest cast member was— because c’mon.. to succeed in EIP, you’ve got to have some sort of humour. ” It’s hard to pick, because all of them are very funny, but I would say Lucien is the funniest.” stated the blonde beauty.
One of the factors many of the stars believed played a huge role was the pandemic, or at least, that’s what Camille Razat happens to think. “It really helped us in a way that I think people needed, you know, something very light and joyful.” she said. “Darren Star is such an icon for that, because it does Sex In The City and also, I think he was excited to see the next show he was working on. I think Emily in Paris is like candy you know, you just keep swallowing it and you love it and you love it and you, you need it.”

We asked Lily Collins and Ashley Park what it was like working with the director, Darren Star, and we can for sure tell that working with him was truly a wonderful experience. Our fave duo went on and on about how amazing he is at his work and how he thrives to make sure each and everyone of his cast members learn from him as they go.
Ashley Park: As someone who loves to, also be a…. I don’t want to use the word host. But that’s what really, he has done. He’s not only amazing at who he works with and casts and trusts, he’s able to bring together a certain chemistry and alchemy of people to really make a beautiful final product together and we really; I learned a lot from him about navigating that.
Lily Collins: Yeah, trusting the writing process, because we don’t know our fates leading into season four, we didn’t know one, two or three and so because every time we read an episode, we were constantly surprised and constantly amazed by the intricacy of all the interwoven relationships. It’s taught us to understand that if there’s something placed in one episode, it will probably come back around. So trust that the weaving of the stories. Not to mention, his mind is so unique in the way that he views the story in his own way.
Ashley Park: Very much so, especially with other people’s characters too. You know and sometimes, we will do a table read for an episode and then changes will happen with other characters’ scenes that they decide either on the day on set or something like that. So I’m watching this season even. I just watched the ten episodes and I’ve been truly surprised on the spot.
Lily Collins: But I don’t think I would have ever imagined the show becoming what it’s become, nor the storylines being the storylines and that’s what we have to give up to the writer’s room, into Darren. We can bring our A game every day as much as we can as are characters, but we also have to trust the process and I think no matter what job you’re in, whatever industry you’re in, you’re going to learn things throughout the journey and I think I don’t like to think of things as you know, that was a bad choice or that was anything negative per say. I think I’d like to think of it as a learning experience and if there were humps along the way you grow from them and how to use your voice more.

Last but not least, fashion icon and Emily herself, said when it came to why the show was so successful: “We were able to come out at a time when the world needed to smile and laugh and celebrate. As you know, have this sense of travel and escapism as well as I think having a show that is so based on love, light and happiness really helped bring that to more people and I think Netflix taking on the show, it became a global smile in a sense.”
“You know also fashion plays such a huge role and I know that in the Middle East fashion is also really really celebrated” stated Lily Collins. “So I think our show just hit all these like happy marks that people enjoyed and we’re so grateful that it’s really popular over there.”
