Netflix just announced a second season of their successful reality tv show Dubai Bling. Ever since the announcement, there have been multiple tea-worthy headlines surrounding the new season, such as Amy Roko getting fired. This new contract is not just tea, but a whole scandal for a season that doesn’t even have a release date yet.

About Dubai Bling season 2’s contract…

In a leaked contract seen by Arabian Business, the production company of the show, Different Productions, has forced the cast to give up their “moral rights”. Moral rights are basic rights that protect your work when it’s being used so every time someone uses your work or your work is shown, you would always get credited and attributed for it.

The contract states that “Manager recognises and confirms that Talent recognises that DIFFERENT PRODUCTIONS has the unlimited right to edit, copy, alter, add to, take from, adapt or translate the Programme and, with regard to the Programme and the Programme, hereby Talent irrevocably waives the benefits of any provision of law known as “moral rights” or any similar laws of any jurisdiction”.

The contract also leaked how much the stars are making. Arabian Business confirmed that the Dubai Bling stars are getting paid Dhs9,175 per episode, which means they would make Dhs73,400 for the whole season (8 episodes). Don’t get us wrong this is still a lot for ~us~, but it’s practically nothing compared to other reality tv stars. For reference: Kardashians were paid more than Dhs300 million for two seasons.

This leak on Dubai Bling season 2 pushed Netflix to start an investigation to figure out who leaked that information. On the other hand, the contract confirmed that there could be a possible third season in the works, with cast members getting a 5% rise with each season. All this juicy gossip is making us more excited for the new season. All we can do is just sit with our popcorn and watch all the scandals unfold before the season 🍿.
