After winning over Netflix viewers on Dubai Bling, she is known as a reality TV icon in the UAE.

A huge part of Safa Siddiqui‘s virality and fan fondness comes from her loveable relationship with her husband, Fahad, also a cast member of the hit series.

However, the mother of two has revealed that her hubby was not always on board with her signing up to become a TV star and has shared exclusively with Cosmo ME that the businessman was “really against” them both going on camera.

Sharing the intel with us in the latest issue of Cosmo ME, the pocket rocket delved into how being on reality TV was never on her vision board but how, ultimately, it’s changed her life.

She shared: “When I had my firstborn, I had been a housewife for some time, and I fell into postpartum depression because I didn’t have that outlet to achieve.

“Then I was offered the opportunity for Dubai Bling. I was never interested in fame, my to-do list was always just to get married, have kids, and spend money.

“Fahad was actually really against us joining the show, but ultimately it ended up happening and everything changed”.

Well, we are sure glad they both ended up on the series, as their dynamic, the arguments, and the extravagant gifting are part of the draw of us tuning in.

Parents to daughters Alina (born in 2020) and Ayana (born in 2022), the husband and wife’s love story did not start as you’d expect, Safa exclusively revealed to Cosmo ME in 2023.

Sharing the truth behind them becoming Mr and Mrs, Safa revealed that she initially friend-zoned Fahad as she got the vibe that “he could be a guy friend, who was nice and refreshing.”

Admitting she was “wrong about it”, she explained: “He was too good and ended up being my husband.”

A modern-day love story, Safa was won over by Fahad putting in the work, telling us: “It was very much of a persistent thing from Fahad. But that’s very important for me because if somebody is persistent, I am interested.”

Reflecting on their initial encounters, it sounds like it was fate with Safa sharing: “When Fahad came to my office, it was the first time, he was dealing with a colleague of mine and he was checking me out. I kept bumping into him everywhere, and we became good friends. And I was like, ‘Wow! finally, a guy in Dubai who just wants to be friends’“.

Things quickly turned romantic when it was Fahad’s birthday, and Safa realised that he did not want a platonic relationship with her (as he dropped some major compliments which made her realise he was interested).

She told Cosmo Me: “But then it was his birthday, he complimented me, and I realised that guys don’t speak to girls that way unless they’re interested in them. And then the rest was history.”

A modern-day love story!
