The Britney Spears-Victor Wembanyama situation

This exchange occurred at a busy restaurant in Aria Hotel on South Las Vegas Boulevard as per reports by BBC when the songstress says she spotted the 19-year-old Spurs rookie and went to say “hello”.

“I decided to approach him and congratulate him on his success,” she wrote. “It was really loud, so I tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention,” continued Britney.

This is where things get messy. According to Yahoo! Sports, Victor claimed that a person “grabbed” him from behind as opposed to Britney Spears’ statement which says a different story.

The Toxic singer acknowledges and denies this in her Instagram post and goes on to describe the events of the night in her own words.

“His security then back handed me in the face without looking back, in front of a crowd,” she wrote. “Nearly knocking me down and causing my glasses off my face,” said Britney Spears.

In the two-slide carousel, the musician also talks about how her security team has never hit any of her fans who have swarmed her, including on that very night.

She then urged the public to treat everyone with respect and showed her solidarity with victims of physical violence all over the world. Britney Spears also claims that she didn’t get a public apology from Victor or the security detail who allegedly slapped her.

This individual has since been identified as the head of the basketballer’s security team as per TMZ which also revealed that Britney filed a police report with the Las Vegas Police Department.

“I also don’t appreciate nor do I think this is a laughing matter. Watching the player smile and laugh was cruel and demoralizing with the situation that took place. I am 5’3 and he’s 7’4…” concluded Britney Spears.

The pop star’s husband Sam Asghari also took to Instagram stories to share his thoughts on the matter. “I am opposed to violence in any form,” he said. “Self-defense can be unavoidable, but the defense of any woman, especially my wife, is not debatable.”
