If you’re not too sporty or good at being ~balanced~, then just imagine how amazed you’ll be when you check out resident Barbie Dubai surfer Karolina Agata Sankiewicz. The content creator can basically do it all on a boogie board; holding a laptop, wearing the highest of heels, or even dressing into a *very* stylish outfit. It’s no wonder that her viral videos have gained her almost over 200 million views on TikTok, and 601k followers on Instagram.
We spoke to the Barbie Dubai surfer on her journey with creating these videos, being an entrepreneur, and her craziest stunt while wake surfing. Read our interview with Karolina below…

Cosmo ME: You’re the founder of K Surf Dubai + K Designs UAE, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Karolina Agata Sankiewicz: I’m originally from Poland and have been living in Dubai for the last 11 years. Dubai is my home, and I am very grateful to be living here. This country gave me opportunities to pursue my dreams and I hope my story will inspire people to follow their passion and never give up. My passion became my business purely because I love what I do.
When I started to do crazy ideas such as ironing, holding a laptop, and wearing high heels while surfing, I did them because I love the feeling when I’m on the board catching the waves. As my videos went viral, brands started approaching me and my passion turned into my business.

Cosmo ME: How did you get into wake surfing?
KS: It all started in Hawaii, I used to live and study in Honolulu for 5 years. I fell in love with surfing in there, although I’m from a cold country that’s used to heavy winter, I’ve always loved sunshine and the sea.
Cosmo ME: When did your socials take off, and what was your first viral video?
KS: It was May 2023. I traveled to Miami for my birthday and I uploaded a TikTok of me surfing in a bath robe, wearing Nike Jordans, putting on makeup, and carrying Cartier and Louboutin shopping bags. It had 20 million views overnight which was shocking as I never expected that this video would go viral. I filmed this idea for fun, and now the video has almost 50 million views.
My second super viral video was Barbie, when I filmed for fun, wearing high heels, carrying shopping bags, a MacBook Pro, and dressed as Barbie. This video has currently 55 million views on TikTok and a few million on Instagram. After that my nickname was the Barbie Dubai surfer.
Cosmo ME: What’s the craziest stunt you’ve pulled off whilst wake surfing?
KS: I think it had to be either using an ironing board with the iron, or decorating a big Christmas tree. In terms of both, I didn’t fall in the water and we filmed the video successfully, but it was tricky.

Cosmo ME: Tell us a little bit about K Surf Dubai – how did the idea come about, and has running a wake surfing company always been a dream?Â
KS: K Surf Dubai is a new company that started with my passion for surfing. As my videos went viral, many people approached me about trying out surfing and making videos like me.
For me it’s always been a dream to have my own company and to be able to create an experience where people can gather together and have fun.
Cosmo ME: What’s next for the OG Barbie Dubai surfer?
KS: Definitely more surfing, and even more crazy ideas. I love creating content to make people smile and laugh, so I hope to continue to do that.
One day we hope to see the Barbie Dubai surfer even holding one of our Cosmo mags 👀 (!!)
