Representing the iconic Gazelle sneaker in adidas Originals’ new campaign is AlRawabi School for Girls’ very own Andria Tayeh – alongside Noura Bin Saidan, the first Saudi female Mural Artist.

The trailblazing Lebanese-Jordanian actress perfectly embodies the agility and sophistication of the Gazelle, as shown in her fantastic cinematic portrayals on the big screen.
In an attempt to find out more about makes Andria Tayeh an “original” in her own right, Cosmo ME has organised a delightful three-part interview with the actress – delving into topics like self-discovery, acting, and the iconic adidas Originals Gazelle sneaker (of course).

Cosmo ME x Andria Tayeh…
Andria & her Original
Cosmo ME: If you could describe yourself in a few words, what would they be?
Andria Tayeh: Optimistic, hyper, positive soul. Hardworking and always curious to learn more.
Cosmo ME: For your personally, what does being an Original mean?
Andria Tayeh: As an actress, being original means embracing my distinctive voice and viewpoint. It’s about expressing myself honestly, going outside my comfort zone, and motivating others to do the same. It’s about paying homage to the past while developing something fresh and exciting for the future.
Cosmo ME: In this day and age, do you believe that originality is everywhere or rather slowly disappearing? How do you think we can encourage the world to be more original?
Andria Tayeh: I feel like there is a bit less originality as trends take over and everyone hops on them to fit in most of the time. I like to personalise my work, put my touch in everything, make it unique, and embrace everything I am.
Cosmo ME: Is there any part of yourself that you would change if given the chance? Why or why not?
Andria Tayeh: I love and accept myself the way I am, but there are always things that you can work on in order to keep improving and becoming the best version of yourself.
Cosmo ME: In today’s world, characterized by trends, how do you stand out?
Andria Tayeh: In today’s world, standing out requires a combination of honesty, originality, and constant effort. By remaining true to your values while conveying your own unique skills and perspectives. I distinguish myself by bringing my true self to every part, embracing versatility, and constantly improving my craft.

Cosmo ME: What are 3 things that you can’t live without?
Andria Tayeh: My family, music and skincare.
Cosmo ME: What do you wish to be remembered for?
Andria Tayeh: I want to be remembered as an actress who brought characters to life with depth and emotion, while also leaving a positive impact through kindness and respect.
Cosmo ME: What would you tell your younger self, the younger generation and people in your community?
Andria Tayeh: To my younger self, the younger generation, and my community: Embrace self-love as your foundation, embody your uniqueness and believe in yourself and your potential. Most importantly, know what you’re capable of.
Andria gets personal
Cosmo ME: Growing up in an Arab culture often involves a rich tapestry of traditions and values. Does your cultural background influence your approach to acting and the roles that you take on?
Andria Tayeh: Our rich and diverse culture pushes me to seek roles and characters that display and spread this message on a bigger scale, which I personally find very empowering and motivating.
Cosmo ME: When you take on a new role, how do you connect with your character on a personal level? W
Andria Tayeh: When I step into a new role, I go beyond the script to truly understand my character. After studying their story and motivations, I explore why they behave the way they do, aiming to relate on a personal level. This process helps me create a genuine portrayal that resonates with audiences. For example, in “Al Rawabi School for Girls,” playing Mariam was incredibly impactful. Having experienced bullying myself, I could truly feel every emotion she went through, making the performance deeply authentic and meaningful.
Cosmo ME: Your strong presence in the entertainment industry contributes to Arab representation. How do you hope to inspire and empower young individuals from your background who aspire to pursue their dreams?
Andria Tayeh: As a Lebanese-Jordanian actress, I hope my journey in the industry can quietly show the strength of diversity. I aim to inspire and empower young individuals by showing them that their background is a strength, not a limitation. By pursuing my dreams passionately, I hope to encourage them to embrace their unique self and follow their aspirations with confidence.
Cosmo ME: The art of acting often involves delving into a wide array of emotions and personalities. How have your experiences in acting contributed to your personal growth and self-discovery?
Andria Tayeh: Through acting, I’ve learned and grown by experiencing a wide range of emotions and stepping into diverse characters’ shoes. Through each role, I’ve discovered new facets of myself, developing personal growth. This process has helped me embrace vulnerability and empathy.
Andria Tayeh’s shoe stories
Cosmo ME: What’s the story behind your very first pair of Gazelle Originals sneakers?
Andria Tayeh: Oh, the nostalgia! When I was in school, I saw my sister rocking a pair of Gazelle Originals – and honestly, I was envious. I managed to convince my mom to get me the same ones but in a different color (black and white in particular). The next day, I proudly wore them to school, excited to flaunt my awesome Gazelle shoes to my friends. It felt like a cool, confidence-boosting moment!
Cosmo ME: How would you describe your personal style? How do you like to style your Gazelle Originals sneakers?
Andria Tayeh: When it comes to my clothing choices, I don’t limit myself to just one style; I love exploring different clothing options and mixing things up. When it comes to styling my Gazelle Originals sneakers I can pair them with black wide-leg pants, a chic chrome white top, and a vest or a classy grey blazer. On another day, I could go for a short black mini skirt matched with a black corset. For me it’s all about expressing my creativity and styling my look to suit the moment.

Cosmo ME: Do you associate your Gazelle Originals sneakers with a specific experience or memory?
Andria Tayeh: My Gazelle Originals shoes make me reminisce about my school days. Every time I wear them, they take me back to those memorable moments that I spent during that time. The shoes hold a special place in my heart.
Cosmo ME: If your Gazelle Originals sneakers could talk, what story would they say about you?
Andria Tayeh: My older pair would probably scold me for all the adventures I took them on, from intense basketball games to playground shenanigans during school breaks. They’ve been through a lot! On the other hand, my newer pair would thank me for the more gentle treatment that they receive.
