Slaying seems to be genetic in the Knowles family. First, there’s Beyoncé (which is self-explanatory, but if you need extra proof, just watch her 2016 VMAs performance), then there’s Tina Knowles, a rising star on Instagram, there’s Blue Ivy Carter, who’s already walking in her mother’s footsteps, and there’s Solange, a songstress and style maven that somehow makes the craziest outfit ideas work. (Did you see the caped jumpsuit she wore on her wedding day?)
Solange’s latest feat is a shocker: She made a dress out of a ball of yarn because she was bored. And no, she didn’t knit it; she literally stripped down and started wrapping herself in a long string of yarn until she ended up with this:
In her caption she notes being inspired by her art director friend Carlota Guerrero. “I f**ked round and made a dress out of yarn,” she writes, though the result is impressive for such a haphazard attempt.
This isn’t Solange’s only time styling an unconventional ensemble — which she’s exceptionally good at. Below are just a few standout moments. Watch and learn.
1. When she wore this lavender draped cutout dress (sans footwear)
2. When she wore this Lemonade-yellow David Laport ensemble for the Met Gala
3. When she sported an unexpected sweater-flapper look by Michael Kors
4. When she stepped out in a voluminous layered outfit (featuring those coveted Gucci sandals)
5. When she made an ethereal dress out of DRY-CLEANING BAGS. How?
6. When she frolicked in the desert looking like a “psychedelic fish scale” thanks to Acne Studios
7. When she lounged in this many-textured sheer two-piece from This Is the Uniform
8. When she majestically twirled in this multicolored Thom Browne look, giving you major flashbacks to the fun rainbow-parachute games from your childhood
9. When she danced in these Kenzo co-ords looking like a chic sponge/3-D stuntman
10. When she educated you in recycling, aka geniusly using a circle scarf as a choker
11. When she wore a fuzzy butterfly as a mask (while mixing furs and prints) for the chicest Mardi Gras look you’ve ever seen

Never stop doing you, Solange.
