The actress was appointed as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 1999. One of her trip included a visit to UNICEF-assisted drop-in centre for destitute children, with a particular focus on those who lost loved ones to AIDS, in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.
2. Shakira
The Colombian singer has been an ambassador since 2003, with a particular focus on early childhood development. She has completed field visits around the world, including to Bangladesh, Azerbaijan and India, leading two global fund-raising campaigns to help life-saving supplies reach the world’s most at-risk children.
3. Katy Perry
The Roar singer was named a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2013. In 2016, the 32-year-old visited children at the Phuoc Thanh Commune Health Centre in Ninh Thuan Province, Vietnam, a visit aiming to end exclusion of children with disabilities.
4. Jackie Chan
The Hong Kong-born actor was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF during a 2004 trip to Cambodia. He is known for providing empathy and hope to children on his UNICEF missions.
5. Orlando Bloom
In recognition of his commitment to the rights of children around the world, the Lord of the Rings actor was named a Goodwill Ambassador in 2009. And has completed field visits to Nepal, Moscow, South Africa, Jordan and Liberia.
6. David Beckham
In 2015, marking 10 years as an Ambassador, Beckham and UNICEF launched 7: The David Beckham UNICEF Fund which aims to protect millions of children from danger.
7. Ricky Martin
The Goodwill Ambassador has worked diligently to defend kids from abuse and trafficking. Last summer he visited Syrian refugee children at Al-Hissa informal refugee settlement in northern Lebanon.
8. Liam Neeson
“I am committed to working with UNICEF to help children overcome poverty, violence, disease and discrimination across the world,” the Love Actually star has said of his role.
9. Priyanka Chopra
Bollywood and Hollywood actress and UNICEF India Ambassador, Priyanka Chopra visited Chandrapur, India in 2014 to meet young women and witness the improvement the Building Young Futures programme has achieved.
