  • The interview comes just days after Meghan and Harry filed a lawsuit against the Mail on Sunday for allegedly fabricating stories.

Kim Kardashian is considered royalty in the world of beauty, fashion and reality television, while Meghan Markle is well, actual royalty. They’re both living in entirely different set-ups, but they’re both under intense media scrutiny. So it makes sense that Kim can relate to the duchess.

The star recently opened up to Australian TV show The Sunday Project about the pressure she understands the Duchess of Sussex and her family must be under.

“I don’t think anyone can really understand what that’s like except for them, but I think as I’m older and as I have kids and what I would want for them is just the safest place,” the 39-year-old said. “I can definitely empathise with their need for having a secure, safe place and taking time for themselves and having privacy when they need it.”

Kim also touched on how it must be particularly difficult for the family given what Prince Harry has been through. “I think everyone has their own journey, and I think their journey is extremely personal with what his mother experienced and how her life was so affected by the spotlight and by paparazzi.”

This sympathetic interview comes just a few days after Meghan and Harry filed a lawsuit against the Mail on Sunday for allegedly fabricating stories about Meghan.

The duchess also recently opened up about her struggles in the limelight. “Any woman, especially when they’re pregnant… you’re really vulnerable and so that was made really challenging,” Meghan said in regards to the criticism she has faced in the media.
