Fun fact: celebrities are regular people, just like us. Yep, they wake up every day, have a cup of coffee and laugh at the occasional meme. Strange, right? What’s even more bizarre is that most of these talented individuals have even attended university and sat through lectures that often seemed endless.
Take a look at this list of celebs with degrees/secret skills you never knew about and try not to have a mental breakdown abt your own accomplishments:
1. Kim Kardashian West – Law
Ok, so she may not have a law degree yet, but Kim Kardashian is definitely en route to acquiring one. In a recent interview with Vogue, she revealed she has been studying criminal law on her own and she’s doing a legal apprenticeship with a criminal justice reform organisation. There’s clearly more to the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star than meets the eye.
2. Lisa Kudrow – Biology
Yep, Phoebe from Friends is super smart, guys! The same woman that you grew up loving and singing all the words to ‘Smelly Cat‘ with has a Bachelor’s in Biology. She was meant to follow in her father’s footsteps and even joined his research team after graduating. The brilliant star has even published a psychology paper on headaches and handedness (that’s dominance of one hand over the other, FYI). We’re impressed.
3. Freddie Highmore – Spanish and Arabic
Not one but two language degrees this brainiac holds and we’re stunned. Freddie Highmore, famous for acting in show slike Bates Motel and The Good Doctor, holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Arabic (pretty cool, right?) from Cambridge. What’s more, he graduated with firsts in both degrees! Talk about talented.
4. Brooke Shields – Romance Languages
Did you know that was a thing? Neither did we but we definitely want in on that piece of education. Brooke Shields is known for her work in countless romantic films, and now we can see why. She attended Princeton University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Romance Languages, with a concentration in French (with honours, no less). True fans will also remember her for playing Miley Stewart’s late mother in the classic Disney Channel show, Hannah Montana.
5. Ashton Kutcher – Biochemical Engineering
The heartthrob that’s managed to nail every movie or TV show he’s ever been a part of also studied biochemical engineering once upon a time ago at the University of Iowa in the U.S. Here’s the bit that’s going to srsly tug at your heartstrings: Ashton was taking biochemical engineering with the hope of finding a cure for his twin brother’s life-threatening heart condition. The star didn’t quite finish his degree but it was still an honourable intention.
6. Natalie Portman – Psychology
Putting her acting career on hold, Natalie Portman took four years out to pursue a degree in Psychology at none other than Harvard University. During her time there, she contributed to two studies published in scientific journals and has even guest lectured at Columbia University in New York. Knowing this makes you really think about how well suited she was to playing her role in the psychological thriller, ‘Black Swan’, doesn’t it? Method acting indeed.Â
7. Kourtney Kardashian – Theatre
Bet you didn’t expect to see another Kardashian in the list. Proving that they’re more than just social media stars, the Kardash sisters are always exceeding expectations and srsly impressing us. Kourtney Kardashian is currently the only one from the KarJenner bunch who has a degree, and she graduated with a degree in theatre arts. Good for you, Kourt!Â
8. John Legend – EnglishÂ
The ‘All of Me‘ singer, who’s married to the stunning and hilarious Chrissy Teigen, has a degree in English. It possibly explains why every time we hear a John Legend song, it hits that sweet spot right in our brains. Not only does he have the most beautiful voice known to man, he’s also incredibly smart. We stan a man like John Legend.Â

Emma Watson, famous for correcting people on the accurate pronunciation of magical spells (It’s Leviosa, not Leviosar, geez) and by that we mean her epic role of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series, is also an Ivy League graduate. She has a degree in English Literature from Brown University in the U.S.Â
10. Mayim Bialik – NeuroscienceÂ
The ‘Big Bang Theory‘ actress is just as unbelievably smart as the show portrays her character to be and that makes us so happy. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience at UCLA in the U.S, along with minors in Jewish and Hebrew studies. She then went on to graduate with a PhD in Neuroscience and that’s why she rules. Knowing this gives her character, Amy, in The Big Bang Theory this new layer of authenticity and it’s amazing.Â
