We’d just cracked the code as to why Meghan Markle had been sticking to a neutral toned colour palette, when she turned up to day one of Royal Ascot 2018 wearing an all-white outfit.
For her first day at the ponies, Meghan wore a white buttoned down Givenchy dress with a matching Philip Treacy monochrome hat.
Clearly Givenchy is Meghan’s designer of choice after the fashion house created not only her wedding gown, but also the nude coloured dress she wore for her first official royal outing without Prince Harry (you know the one where she became BFFs with Liz?).
Joined by various members of the royal family including Prince Charles and Camilla, Meghan looked exceptionally elegant in her simple white dress, complete with contrasting black waist belt and court shoes.

As a commoner myself I imagine that the hardest thing about joining the royal family is the headwear part. Sure the invasion of privacy and a lifetime of royal duties isn’t exactly a walk in the park, but hats are a whole different ball game.
Luckily it looks like Meghan has the hat part down and has found her signature side sweep style.
We just hope Meghan and Harry popped into Ladbrokes beforehand…
