Tina Fey has been hinting at a stage adaptation of Mean Girls for years, and recently said that she planned to buckle down on the project while Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt was on hiatus this summer due to Ellie Kemper’s pregnancy. Multiple sources report that the project is a collaboration with her husband, composer Jeffrey Richmond, and Tony Award-nominated lyricist Nell Benjamin for the project — and it’s definitely guaranteed to be super “grool.”
More information, including the cast and how to get tickets, will be released at a later date.
