Looking for a fresh start in 2024? Us too. For a ~mane~ character transition, we chatted with colour expert Jennie Davies, co-founder of Jumeirah’s new The Nest Hair Salon, to find out the top winter hair colour trends in the new year. Ngl, we were legit shocked by the second one.

“In 2024, we can expect to see a fusion of both bold and natural hues. People are becoming much more adventurous with their hair choices, and consequently opting for unique colours that reflects their personalities. In the wintertime, my clients love to go for warmer tones as they are more flattering, comforting, and opulent feeling. Right now, celebs like Hailey Beiber, Camilla Morrone, Jennifer Lopez, and Margot Robbie are influencing GCC winter hair trends.”

Mocha Brunette

“For rich, glossy winter hair, you can’t go wrong with mocha brunettes and buttery golden blondes. The twist here is that they are served with unconventional combinations of both cool and warm tones simultaneously. This ultra-glossy look flatters both fair and medium skin as well as deeper tones.”

“Ask your stylist for rich espresso colour with milk or dark chocolate shades and hints of violet undertones. Afterwards, use a sulfate-free, colour-protecting shampoo and conditioner. I recommend adding a shine serum like Kevin Murphy Shimmer.Shine for a high definition, ultra glossy finish.”

Smoky Rose Quartz Colour Blocks

“Colour blocking is an even bolder and chunkier take on the 90’s style highlights. Everything from tones of golden blonde and brunette blocks to more daring shades of pastel pink, seafoam blue, and teal is in style. This trend is for people who want to have fun by adding drama to their winter hair look. It suits all complexions and is the right colour choice for any woman who wants to make statement.”

“To get the look, ask your stylist for colour blocks of golden pearl blonde, cool brunette, and muted pink or seafoam blue. Afterwards, avoid excessive heat styling and sun exposure to prevent colour fading. Use a colour-protecting hair mask for added hydration as well as a strengthening mask.”

Burnt Caramel and Toasted Almond Blonde

“Blonde is always popular. In the winter of 2024, we will the ever-popular blonde transform to her much warmer-hued sister with a heavy dose of natural contrast. This is the perfect blonde shade for the cooler weather. Warm blonde goes well with light to medium-deep skin tones. Those with deeper features can rock this shade by having more contrast and a darker root to compliment individual features as seen on JLo.”

“Tell your colourist you’d like to opt for a blend of yummy tones such as burnt caramel, toffee nut, and toasted almond. These blonde shades will create a multidimensional contrast with pops of brighter hues around the face. To care for your hair, use a sulfate-free, colour-protecting shampoo and conditioner to maintain the brightness of the blonde. Consider periodic toning treatments every six weeks to refresh the blonde. This keeps it classy, not brassy. I recommend using the nourishing K18 Leave-In Molecular Care Hair Mask into your haircare routine to keep locks strong.”
