How do you perform a facial on a jet at 30,000 feet? For Rebecca Walker, it’s all in a day’s work. Dubbed ‘The Microneedling Queen’, Rebecca is the aesthetician to the elite – the secret behind red-carpet premieres, royal family glow-ups, and yes, in-flight skincare at cruising altitude.
But behind the A-list clientele and passport full of stamps lies a deeper passion. Having spent a decade helping her own mother heal from skin cancer scars, Rebecca knows skincare isn’t just about beauty, it’s about restoration and confidence.
So, what’s the secret to landing a slot in her exclusive appointment book? She reveals why face tape is a total dirham-drain, the one treatment she’d bet her entire skincare empire on, and the non-negotiable products she always has in her handbag.
CosmoME: What made you choose to be a facialist, and what’s the most unexpected lesson you’ve learned?
Rebecca: When I was younger, my family would take annual trips to a renowned spa in London. From an early age, I developed a deep love for skincare treatments – not just for how they transformed the skin, but for how they made you feel physically and mentally. That early exposure shaped my passion for skin and wellness.
CosmoME: What’s the biggest misconception clients walk in with?
Rebecca: There’s no magic wand when it comes to creating healthy skin. Building collagen and elastin takes time, consistency, and the right care. It’s a journey, not a quick fix. But with the right treatments and products, the results are worth it, not just on the surface, but in how you feel.
CosmoME: Share a career “pinch me” moment.
Rebecca: One that stands out is working with royal families and prepping clients for iconic film premieres, moments filled with elegance, pressure, and a lot of glow! I’ve also had the honour of preparing brides for their big day, not just at stunning venues, but even mid-air, performing facials on private jets at 30,000 feet! But perhaps the most personal and meaningful moment has been treating my own mother, who has been bravely battling skin cancer for the past 10 years. We’ve been working together to heal and treat the scars left behind, and it’s reminded me, more than anything, that skincare is about so much more than beauty.
ComsoME: What’s your ultimate ‘holy grail’ treatment?
Rebecca: Microneedling, microneedling , microneedling! I genuinely love it because it’s one of the most effective and versatile treatments out there. It works by triggering the skin’s natural healing process – boosting collagen, improving skin texture, and reducing scarring, pigmentation, and fine lines over time. What I find so powerful is that it doesn’t just treat one concern – it treats the overall quality of the skin. Whether someone’s struggling with acne scars, dullness, enlarged pores, or they just want that healthy, refreshed glow, microneedling delivers real, long-term results.
Helping clients with post-surgical scarring, like my mum after her skin graft, is close to my heart. Seeing the difference it makes, not just in the skin but in someone’s confidence, is exactly why it’s my go-to.
CosmoME: What’s one trend you’d never spend your dirhams on?
Rebecca: Face tape – it gives zero long-term results. At best, it might temporarily lift or smooth the skin for a few hours, but it does nothing to actually treat or improve the skin on a deeper level. I’m all about results-driven treatments that work that stimulate collagen, support skin health, and create lasting change. Facial tape is more of a quick fix or a gimmick, and in some cases, it can even cause skin irritation or damage if overused or used incorrectly.
CosmoME: Name 3 non-negotiable products in your handbag right now…

Rebecca: One, the Louis Vuitton ‘Imagination’ perfume, ZO Skin Health ‘Soothing Micro Mist’ and the ZO Skin Health ‘Recovery Crème’.
CosmoME: Spill, what’s your personal skincare splurge?
Rebecca:
Splurge – Exosomes and ZO Skin Health’s ‘Wrinkle + Texture Repair’ serum.
Save – Tretinoin
CosmoME: If you could ban one beauty myth on social media, what would it be?
Rebecca: “Glass skin”. Perfectly pore less, reflective, flawless skin is unrealistic. Visible pores are normal, necessary, and part of how your skin breathes and regulates itself. Trying to erase them often leads to over-exfoliation, damaged barriers, and breakouts. Real skin has texture, oil, and fluctuations. Hormones, stress, climate, sleep, and diet all affect your skin, not just your skincare products. “Glass skin” is often a mix of genetics, filters, lighting, and professional treatments – not just a magical serum. It sets people up for comparison, disappointment, and overspending.
CosmoME: Beyond the clinic, what’s your ultimate personal “unwind and recharge” ritual that keeps you looking and feeling your absolute best?
Rebecca: For me, recharging is all about balance. Horse riding is my ultimate escape; being out in nature and around horses always keeps me grounded. It’s a space where I can fully disconnect. I’m also a huge fan of Reformer Pilates – I usually go to Posture on The Palm or Downtown, and it’s honestly been such a game-changer for both my physical and mental well-being. It’s one of the few workouts that strengthens while also restoring, which I love.
Infrared saunas are another non-negotiable. I try to fit them in weekly to detox, boost circulation and create collagen. This gives my body a proper reset especially with my intense flying schedule. I actually just invested in one for home, which means I can jump in every other day (or every day, if I have the time!). It’s made such a difference. And when I really want to switch off? It’s either a good documentary or a great book. I’m currently reading Let Them, and I’m nearly at the end.
CosmoME: Give us the scoop! What’s the next big thing on your radar that you’re obsessed with?
Rebecca: Right now, I’m obsessed with the rise of skin longevity. Not just treating skin concerns, but supporting the skin’s health span long-term. We’re moving beyond just “quick fixes” and trending treatments, and starting to focus more on technologies that actually work with the skin’s biology. I’m especially excited about innovations in bio-remodelling like skin boosters and polynucleotides which focus on hydration, repair, and strengthening the skin from within. They complement treatments like microneedling beautifully and really take results to the next level.
It’s not just about chasing perfection anymore – it’s about sustainable, intelligent skincare that supports the skin’s natural function over time. That philosophy is definitely at the core of everything I do.
CosmoME: If you weren’t a facialist, what would you dream job be?
Rebecca: I would have loved to have been a vet – I adore animals.
