The inspiration behind the liner
Huda and her team created a customized applicator with a precise brush tip to find the perfect balance between firmness and flexibility and allowing for maximum control and ultimate precision when it came to getting that immaculate wing. The new pen also entails a ‘progressive flow’ delivery system, which allows for an even distribution of the quick-dry, highly-pigmented formula to flow smoothly. The liner is now available in Very Vanta Extreme Black, the deepest and darkest black with a matte finish.
The liner
As the true goddess of the sleek black liner, Huda Kattan, the founder of Huda Beauty and one of the most influential beauty entrepreneurs in the world, set herself the goal of securing one Huda Beauty eyeliner in each and every makeup kit. While her O.G. Life Liner, a duo-ended pencil and liquid liner which launched in 2019, is a cult must-have for all you high-flying ladies who have perfected the winged eye. However, for those who hadn’t perfected it, Huda created a new liner. Unrivalled, the performance of this liner is unmatched, it is: water-, smudge-, transfer-, flake- and, obvs, pool party-proof, but with an easy-to-use ultra-fine tip. This yields amazing results with a non-smudge appeal or bleeding ink while you apply your liner in one quick flick!
Huda’s how-to
First, start by drawing just the tip of the wing starting from the outer corner of the eye. Follow the natural curve of the bottom lash line as a guide to draw upwards for a lifted, flicked shape. Next, draw along your lash line, starting from your inner corner along the lashline, until you meet the wing you’ve already marked. Last, fill in the rest of your liner using small, fine strokes so you’re left with a smooth, feline cat-eye.

To get the perfect winged-liner result, hold your mirror slightly below the eye so that when you’re drawing your liner, your lashes are facing down – trust us, it makes the process a whole lot easier. Alternatively, you can even use a sticky note as a stencil to get a clean straight wing! Start by placing the sticky note edge along the lower lash line and angle it so it meets near the tail end of your brow. Use this edge as a guide to create your wing. Wait for the liner to set, then slowly peel away the sticky note and tada – the perfect wing!
