Since we’re always up for trying out the latest and greatest, we hopped in our car and drove over to the Palm.

Bamboo rollers offer deep tissue work that the therapist customises with the type of strokes she uses as well as the amount of pressure she applies to the stick. Using a bamboo roller in a spa treatment helps to release tension and encourages lymphatic drainage, making it a great tool to treat post-travel water retention. Red jasper is associated with the root chakra and is known for its ability to balance energies, provide grounding, and address emotional imbalances.

We tried it
One of the toughest parts about being a Beauty Editor is trying out the latest and greatest in the spa industry. And by toughest, we mean best. The ReFIVE Spa is a gorgeous health and wellness escape at FIVE hotel, located at the base of the Palm Jumeirah. The spa rooms are located outside, a short walk away from ReFIVE’s reception.
Each free-standing room is designed for ultimate relaxation and privacy and comes with its own luxurious bathroom with a rain shower, treatment room, and post-massage nourishment.
Our therapist explained what to expect during the treatment and had us choose between a relaxing and an energising CBD oil. We opted for the relaxation. She then left the room so that we could get undressed and situated on the massage table. We noticed right away just how comfortable the bed was and knew that we would most definitely take a cat nap or two.
Throughout the treatment, we could feel our body unwinding and the stress evaporating from our muscles and auras. Our therapist placed the red jasper stone under our cores so that we would reap its energy-balancing effects. We felt a little like dough and she rolled the bamboo stick in broad and short strokes deeply onto our muscles, and we loved every second of it. I had a knot right between my neck and shoulder that she was able to, literally, roll out.

We left the massage feeling like we were floating instead of walking. Our body felt oh-so-relaxed and looser than it had in quite some time. Our skin looked radiant and felt soft and nourished. Ngl, we went home and took a three-hour nap. Would we recommend this massage? Absolutely.
