• Beauty YouTuber Jaclyn Hill recently launched a line of lipsticks under the name Jaclyn Cosmetics.
  • Angry customers are sharing photos of the lipsticks, which have hairs, bumps, and other mysterious deformities in them.

Another day, another beauty guru scandal. What’s going on now, you ask? Well, surprisingly, it has nothing to do with James Charles, Tati Westbrook, or Jeffree Star. This time around, another famous YouTuber is involved: Jaclyn Hill.

Jaclyn is one of the true OG beauty gurus on YouTube. She’s been posting makeup videos since 2011, and since then, she’s gained a whopping 5.9 million subscribers. She keeps it real with her followers, and she even started highlighting before highlighting was cool. The highlighter she created for Becca called Champagne Pop is one of the brand’s best-sellers, and her Morphe palette sold out in less than an hour.

Anyway, given the success of her previous collabs, fans were super excited when the beauty guru announced her own makeup line, Jaclyn Cosmetics, last month. The brand launched with a line of 20 nude lipsticks, each $18, which are all currently sold out on the website. But when customers started receiving their lipsticks, they noticed something wasn’t quite right. People saw hairs, bumps, and balls in the lipstick itself, and some even arrived completely damaged.

Fellow beauty YouTuber RawBeautyKristi posted an in-depth review of the line on her channel and, well…it wasn’t exactly glowing. She put the lipsticks under a microscope and what she saw seemed pretty nasty.

Kristi found exactly what other customers had been complaining about: fibers, bumps, air bubbles, etc. Once Jaclyn saw what her fans were dealing with, she tried to explain the situation on Twitter.

Okay, so the “hairs” were really fibers from white gloves, but it’s still TBD on what those bumps are. Not everyone is buying her excuse, but Jaclyn apologized and offered refunds to anyone who received a faulty product.
