Halloween is just around the corner and you know what that means, tons of creeperiffic costumes and parties are popping up across Dubai. For some people, October 31 is the greatest day of the year. These are the folks that adore everything spooky, go mental with decorations and have the entire Halloween film triology, on repeat.
But, let’s be honest, if you’re more of a procrastinator like me (guilty as charged), then everything has to be *LAST MINUTE*. Ain’t nobody got time for DIY-ing a full mermaid tail, you know what I mean?
That’s why we came up with these drop dead gorgeous looks that won’t cost you a fortune or take eternity to master. In fact, you most probably already ow everything that you need to create the looks.
Let’s begin…
1. Contoured To The Bone
Sugar skulls are so last year. Say hello to the new re-vamped version of the ol’ cranium: The Nude Skull. Contouring is all about making your features pop while highlighting your bone structure. This look steps up that game and redefines the #nomakeuplook .Quite bone chilling, wouldn’t you say?
Get the look:
1. Apply contour in the usual areas: Under your cheek bones, temples and nose
2. Once you are happy with the shape, go in with the darkest shade of contour you have and really accentuate your features
3. Go in with your brow pencil and carefully trace the ‘hollow’ areas of your skull: tip of nose and where your jaw bone connects to your skull and along your teeth (feel around your face to get a better idea)
4. Take your white eyeliner pencil or eyeshadow and draw in your teeth one by one
5. Top everything off with a sparkly highlighter for a ghoulish sheen. Apply on top for cheekbones, brow bones and teeth

2. Speye’der
I spy with my little eye…. A HUGE SPIDER SITTING ON YOUR FACE! Spiders are everyone’s nightmare, that’s what makes them perf for Halloween. Freak out your friend’s with this half face, 3D piece of art that will crawl under their skin. Who’s a good creepy crawler? Yes, you are.
Get the look:
1. Generously apply a black eyeshadow all over and around your eye. Start off with an oval shape and then draw the base of the extending legs
2. Take your black eyeliner and start sketching the legs. Keep in mind that the legs are segmented, meaning they are angled and vary in thickness. Don’t forget a spider has EIGHT legs and two smaller mouth parts
3. Take a creamy white eyeliner and start adding details. Highlight the joints, along the legs and add lil’ eyes
4. Once that’s done, you can go in with a light hand and carefully draw the translucent shadows under the leg to give it that 3D “a real spider is crawling on my face” effect
5. Finish the look off with a healthy dose of super black mascara. Take tweezers and press the lashes together for a spider eye effect

3. Violet From Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
“Violet, you’re turning violet!”
I bet you didn’t expect to find this childhood gold on our list. Who would have thought that Violet Beauregarde, the bubble gum chewing champion and everyone’s fav brat, would make such a wicked Halloween glam-look? Instagramer ellieaddis started a true craze when she came up with the look. And, now we are all turning purple with envy.
Get the look:
1. Take a big fluffy brush and dab a juicy blueberry eyeshadow all over your nose, up to the eyebrows and a bit outwards towards your cheeks. Layer on different shades of purple, with the lightest one on the outer blend and darkening the colour towards the tip of the nose
2. Apply sparkly pink eyeshadow on the lids and cheeks for a young and girly look
3. Emphasize your eyes with a dramatic set of falsies. They help add an element of “brat” to the iconic character
4. Chewing gum all day can be really exhausting. So, why not just swipe on a bubble gum pink lip gloss on your lips instead? It has the same effect and is a lot less work
5. Dig out your old Juicy Couture tracksuit from your closet and your look is complete
