Call me dramatic, but having greasy hair is the bane of my existence. To avoid looking like I’ve just finished a shift in my local chippy, I’m stuck in a vicious cycle of daily hair washing, combined with a dry shampoo habit that is slowly but surely draining my bank balance.

Luckily for me, Jen Atkin, Celebrity Hairstylist and founder of haircare brand Ouai was in London promoting her brand new Anti Frizz Hair Sheets.

Think of them as like blotting papers for your hair, except instead of removing shine, they remove that dreaded halo of frizz that happens whenever your hair meets any kind of humidity.

As hair stylist to the entire Kardashian-Jenner family, along with Chrissy Teigen, Bella and Gigi Hadid, Jen is the go-to lady when it comes to hair woes.

So when Jen shared her tip for hair washing when you’re a grease head like me, I had to grab my dictaphone and share it with the rest of you.

“No one thinks about this, especially if you’re a girl who suffers with a greasy scalp. But you should wash your hair with two different shampoos, because the root and ends are such different hair.”

“Think about it, the ends of your hair have usually been coloured and are pretty dead. So you wanna use a hydrating shampoo like our Ouai Repair, or Ouai Smooth to wash the ends with, but you want to wash the roots with a more cleansing shampoo, like Ouai Volume, or Clean. Wash the roots first, then wash the ends and you’re good to go.”
