In March 2018 a law was created in Dubai where mothers can have 60 to 90 days of paid maternity leave. While fathers didn’t have the opportunity to be with their child during this time due to work, a new law is about to change this.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has issued a new law. Law No.2 declares that all fathers who welcome a newborn baby will have 5 days of paternity leave. This law applies to all DIFC employees and was done to benefit both employers and employees.
This law will be put into action on August 28th. And we’re so happy to see gender equality happening!
