I know that most people would say the one makeup item they wouldn’t be without is mascara, but I would much rather keep my foundation and ditch my lashes any day of the week.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think I have terrible skin by any means. But I just feel a lot more comfortable when I have something on my face. To even out the red blotchiness you know?

So when I heard about L’Oreal Paris’ new Infallible Total Cover Foundation which promises a flawless, full coverage base. Covering everything from blemishes, to redness and tattoos, I knew I had to try it.

The first thing that surprised me was the consistency of the foundation. It has a mousse-like texture and trust me when I say a little goes a long way.

I was expecting this to feel really heavy on the skin (as most high coverage foundations do) but this felt surprisingly light, in fact it didn’t really feel like I was wearing anything on my skin.

But how well does it actually cover? Well I thought the best way to showcase the coverage would be the classic half face trick because there just aren’t enough embarrassing pictures of me on the Internet already.

Yep, this foundation does not mess around and it definitely wasn’t lying when it said it covers everything…goodbye redness.

I will say that on dry skin this foundation is not forgiving, it clings to dry patches and needed quite a bit of blending around my nose to smooth over my pores, but I reckon you can control that by using a hydrating primer like the Too Faced Hangover Primer underneath.

Personally for me I wouldn’t wear this much coverage everyday but if you like a flawless base you are going to love this and if you prefer a lighter base, you can always just use it where needed or sheer it out with a moisturiser.
